Case study 01

Communication Breakdown (High-Conflict, Emotionally Exhausted Couple) Client Background: Rohan S., 38, Senior Finance Manager, and Meera S., 35, Schoolteacher. Married 10 years, two children. Outwardly functional, privately at breaking point.

Client background
Presenting issue
Despite deep love for each other, Rohan and Meera had fallen into a cycle of escalating arguments, emotional withdrawal and cold silences. Every conversation about finances, parenting or intimacy ended in either explosion or shutdown. Both reported feeling unseen, unheard and increasingly hopeless about the future of their marriage.
Our approach
  • ● Identifying each partner’s underlying emotional needs and unmet attachment wounds
  • ● Breaking dysfunctional communication cycles through evidence-based couples therapy
  • ● Teaching emotional regulation and conflict de-escalation tools
  • ● Rebuilding emotional safety and mutual appreciation
✓ The result
Within 6 sessions, Rohan and Meera reported a dramatic reduction in the frequency and intensity of conflict. Both learned to express needs without blame and to listen without defensiveness. Their children noticed the shift before they fully did. Emotional connection rebuilt steadily over ten weeks.
“We didn’t need to be told we loved each other. We knew that. We needed to learn how to stop hurting each other. Online marriage counselling gave us the tools — and the patience — to do that.”
CASE

Case study 02

Infidelity Recovery (Emotional Affair, Shattered Trust) Client Background: Kavya P., 37, HR Director. Discovered her husband's emotional affair of two years through a series of messages. Marriage of 12 years, one child.

Client background
Presenting issue
Kavya oscillated between rage, grief and desperate attempts to hold the family together. Her husband, Suresh, was remorseful but didn’t know how to rebuild trust. Both were paralysed — unable to leave, unable to move forward without help.
Our approach
  • ● Processing betrayal trauma individually before joint sessions
  • ● Rebuilding transparency and accountability structures within the relationship
  • ● Addressing the emotional disconnection that preceded the affair
  • ● Creating a new relational agreement grounded in honesty and mutual respect
✓ The result
Over 12 sessions, Kavya moved from acute trauma to cautious hope. Suresh developed the emotional vocabulary to take genuine accountability. Their relationship foundation, though cracked, was rebuilt on significantly more honest ground. Both described the process as the most difficult and most valuable work of their lives.
“I never thought I’d say this — but the affair brought us to a table we’d avoided for years. Online marriage counselling didn’t save a marriage. It helped us finally build the one we should have had.”
CASE

Case study 03

Emotional Disconnection (Distance & Parallel Lives) Client Background: Amit M., 44, Senior Partner at a law firm. Wife, Deepa, 41, runs her own business. Married 15 years. Professionally accomplished. Relationally hollow.

Client background
Presenting issue
Amit and Deepa described their marriage as “functional but empty.” No conflict. No passion. No real intimacy — emotional or physical. They coexisted politely, parented competently, and quietly grieved the relationship they once had. Neither wanted to divorce. Neither knew how to reconnect.
Our approach
  • ● Identifying when and how the emotional drift began
  • ● Rebuilding rituals of connection and emotional responsiveness
  • ● Addressing individual emotional suppression patterns that maintained the distance
  • ● Reigniting shared meaning, vision and intimacy within the relationship
✓ The result
Within 5–6 sessions, Amit and Deepa began identifying the gradual drift that had built over years of professional busyness and emotional avoidance. Shared vulnerability returned, followed by renewed intimacy, laughter and genuine companionship.
“We weren’t unhappy. We were just… absent from each other. Online marriage counselling helped us find our way back. Slowly, then suddenly.”
CASE

Case study 04

Pre-Divorce Intervention (Final Attempt Before Separation) Client Background: Sanjay R., 47, VP at a corporate firm. Wife, Leena, 44, Architect. Separated informally, living under the same roof for the children. Divorce papers under consideration.

Client background
Presenting issue
After years of accumulated resentment, failed attempts at reconciliation and one major infidelity incident, both had begun privately planning their separation. A mutual friend suggested one final attempt at online marriage counselling — more out of duty than hope.
Our approach
  • ● Helping both partners articulate what they genuinely wanted — including the possibility of a conscious, respectful separation
  • ● Releasing decades of accumulated resentment through structured emotional processing
  • ● Rebuilding respect and communication as a co-parenting foundation regardless of outcome
  • ● Exploring whether genuine reconciliation was possible and desired by both
✓ The result
Over 8 sessions, Sanjay and Leena made the mutual decision to genuinely try. What began as a last-resort consultation became the most honest conversations of their marriage. They chose each other — not from obligation, but from informed, clear-eyed choice.
“We came in planning a graceful exit. We left planning a future. I don’t fully understand how that happened — but I’m deeply grateful it did.”

Case study 05

Parenting Conflict & Resentment (Children as Battleground) Client Background: Nisha P., 40, Homemaker. Husband, Karan, 43, Senior Executive. Married 14 years, two teenagers. Conflict primarily expressed through parenting disagreements and control battles.

Client background
Presenting issue
Nisha and Karan disagreed on virtually everything related to their children — discipline, education, screen time, relationships. Arguments had become daily. Their teenagers were increasingly anxious. Beneath the parenting conflict lay years of unresolved resentment about roles, recognition and emotional labour.
Our approach
  • A systemic online marriage counselling framework including: ● Uncovering the deeper relational resentments driving the surface parenting conflicts ● Developing a shared, respectful parenting philosophy and communication protocol ● Addressing Nisha’s invisible labour and Karan’s emotional unavailability ● Building genuine partnership in both the home and the relationship
✓ The result
Within 10–12 sessions, Nisha and Karan developed a unified parenting approach grounded in mutual respect. Home tension reduced significantly. Their teenagers reported feeling the shift before being told anything had changed. The marriage found a new equilibrium built on equity and genuine appreciation.
“We thought we had a parenting problem. We had a marriage problem. Fixing the marriage fixed the parenting — and everything else.”

Online marriage counselling is a structured therapeutic process in which a certified marriage counsellor works with a couple — or individual — via secure video call to identify and resolve the patterns, wounds and communication breakdowns that are damaging the relationship.
Not exactly. Marriage counselling is conducted by clinically trained therapists and addresses psychological, emotional and relational dysfunction — including trauma, attachment wounds, betrayal and grief. Relationship coaching is typically more goal-oriented and future-focused, without clinical therapeutic depth. For complex marital issues — infidelity, emotional disconnection, long-standing conflict — marriage counselling is the appropriate level of care.
Most couples describe a sense of being genuinely heard — possibly for the first time in years — within a structured, safe environment. Sessions are guided conversations, not free-for-all arguments. The therapist ensures both partners feel equally seen, manages emotional intensity, and keeps sessions productive and forward-moving. Many couples report feeling lighter, clearer and more connected even after the first session.
No. An ethical, trained marriage counsellor is a neutral, impartial guide — not an advocate for either partner. The therapeutic alliance is with the relationship itself, not with either individual. Both partners’ experiences, needs and perspectives are equally valid and equally important within the process.
Absolutely. Individual online marriage counselling is highly effective for those whose partner is unwilling to attend. Working on your own communication patterns, attachment style, emotional triggers and relational behaviours creates genuine change — and often motivates a reluctant partner to engage. Many couples begin with one partner attending individually and transition to joint sessions as trust builds.
EFT is one of the most rigorously researched and effective couples therapy models in the world. Developed by Dr. Sue Johnson, it works by identifying the negative interaction cycles that maintain disconnection and conflict, and tracing them to underlying attachment needs and fears. By helping partners understand what they are truly reaching for in conflict, EFT creates a profound shift from attack-defend cycles to vulnerable, connecting communication.
Yes. Couples therapy — particularly EFT and Cognitive Behavioural Couples Therapy — has an extensive peer-reviewed evidence base. Meta-analyses confirm significant improvements in relationship satisfaction, communication quality and emotional intimacy in couples who engage in structured counselling. The American Psychological Association recognises couples therapy as an evidence-based intervention for relational distress.
Individual psychotherapy focuses on one person’s psychological world — their thoughts, emotions, history and patterns. Online marriage counselling focuses on the relationship as the client — the dynamics, communication cycles, emotional patterns and attachment behaviours that exist between two people. Both are often powerfully combined, particularly when one or both partners are also engaged in individual work.
A skilled marriage counsellor provides structure, safety, neutrality and clinical expertise that a private conversation cannot replicate. At home, conversations escalate, defensive responses activate, and nothing gets resolved. In counselling, the therapist manages emotional intensity, ensures each partner is genuinely heard, identifies the deeper patterns beneath the surface argument, and guides the conversation toward actual resolution.
Formal marriage counselling emerged in the early 20th century, with roots in the social work, family therapy and psychoanalytic traditions. Key developments include the work of Virginia Satir in family systems therapy, the development of EFT by Sue Johnson and Leslie Greenberg in the 1980s, and John Gottman’s research-based model from the 1990s onwards. Today it is a sophisticated, evidence-rich field used by millions of couples globally.
Yes. All session content at Holistic Living is held in the strictest professional confidence. We adhere to ethical codes equivalent to international standards of clinical confidentiality. Nothing shared in sessions — by either partner — is disclosed to any third party without explicit written consent, except in the very rare circumstances required by law.
This concern is common and valid. A skilled marriage counsellor manages this risk actively — by establishing clear session agreements, ensuring vulnerability shared in the therapeutic space is not weaponised, and working with both partners on the emotional safety needed for honesty to be productive rather than harmful. If misuse of session content is occurring, the counsellor will address this directly.
For infidelity and most forms of relational trauma, yes — with the right clinical approach, joint sessions can be deeply healing. However, where there is active domestic violence, coercive control or ongoing abuse, standard couples counselling is not recommended and can in some situations increase risk. At Holistic Living, a thorough individual assessment is always conducted before joint sessions begin, specifically to screen for these factors.
In most cases, yes. Mental health challenges such as anxiety, depression, PTSD or ADHD significantly affect relational dynamics — and addressing them within couples work can be highly beneficial. Our therapists are trained in both individual psychopathology and systemic relational work. Where required, we coordinate with other treating clinicians to ensure an integrated approach.
In the hands of a qualified, experienced marriage therapist, this risk is minimal. The short-term discomfort of addressing painful truths is a normal and necessary part of the process. Risks increase significantly with unqualified practitioners who lack proper assessment skills, trauma-informed training and clinical ethical grounding. This is precisely why choosing a certified, experienced online marriage counsellor matters enormously.
This is one of the most common relational dynamics seen in couples counselling. The therapist actively works to create conditions where the less expressive partner can speak authentically without being overwhelmed, and where the more expressive partner feels genuinely heard without needing to escalate. Balancing this dynamic is a core clinical skill.
This depends on the nature and depth of the presenting issues. Couples addressing specific communication challenges may see significant improvement in 4–6 sessions. Infidelity recovery, long-term emotional disconnection and complex relational trauma typically require 10–20 sessions. Your therapist will provide a realistic, personalised estimate after your initial assessment.
Standard couples sessions at Holistic Living are 60–90 minutes. Online sessions are the same duration as in-person sessions. Joint couples sessions often run toward the longer end of this range, as both partners’ perspectives require full space within each session.
Most couples begin with weekly sessions to build momentum and create real-time change. As the relationship stabilises, sessions may move to fortnightly for consolidation, and then monthly for maintenance and review. Intensive formats — multiple sessions within a single week — are available for couples facing an acute crisis or visiting from outside India.
Come with openness, a genuine desire for change, and without a pre-prepared case to win. The first session is about understanding — not judging. It helps to think independently about what you need from the relationship and what you are willing to give, though your therapist will guide this exploration. Avoid heavy arguments in the 24 hours before your session where possible.
Your therapist may give specific communication exercises, reflection practices or structured conversations to have between sessions. This between-session work significantly accelerates progress. Relationships change through daily practice — not just within the therapy room.
Yes and yes. Online marriage counselling via secure video call has been shown to be equally effective to in-person sessions for the vast majority of presenting issues. Many couples find the comfort of their own home actually increases openness and emotional safety. Holistic Living offers online sessions across India and globally.
This is handled with care and skill by your therapist. Emotional distress during sessions is normal and can be therapeutically valuable — surfacing feelings that need to be witnessed and processed. The therapist will pace the session appropriately, ensure both partners feel safe, and will never push beyond what is therapeutically sound for either individual.
Not necessarily. Most structured couples counselling involves predominantly joint sessions, but individual sessions for each partner may be integrated — particularly early in the process, or when individual trauma work is required. Your therapist will explain the rationale for any individual sessions clearly and obtain the agreement of both partners.
This is one of the most common reasons couples enter counselling — and it is a completely valid starting point. Online marriage counselling does not require both partners to be certain they want to stay. It requires only that both partners are willing to engage honestly with the process. Clarity — including the clarity to make a conscious, informed decision about separation — is itself a valid and supported therapeutic outcome.
A skilled marriage counsellor facilitates insight, understanding and change — but does not prescribe decisions or outcomes. The choice of whether to stay, separate, forgive or rebuild belongs entirely to you. Your therapist’s role is to ensure those decisions are made from clarity rather than reactivity, hurt or fear.
Yes — and this is one of the most common presenting issues we work with. Infidelity recovery is one of the most complex and demanding of all therapeutic processes, requiring skilled trauma-informed couples work. With the right support, many couples not only survive infidelity but build a fundamentally stronger, more honest relationship than the one that existed before. Recovery is genuinely possible.
Yes. Emotional disconnection — the quiet erosion of closeness, intimacy and genuine companionship — is among the most prevalent and painful relationship experiences. It often develops so gradually that couples mistake it for inevitability. Online marriage counselling addresses the underlying patterns, suppressed needs and emotional avoidance behaviours that create and sustain disconnection.
Yes. Sexual and physical intimacy difficulties are extremely common and are almost always rooted in the emotional dynamics of the relationship — unresolved conflict, trust damage, emotional distance, body image, performance anxiety or underlying individual issues. Our therapists approach intimacy therapeutically, with complete clinical sensitivity and professionalism.
Absolutely. Long-distance marriages face unique stressors — irregular communication, loneliness, jealousy, unequal domestic burden and the difficulty of maintaining emotional intimacy across physical separation. Online marriage counselling is particularly well-suited to long-distance couples, as sessions are conducted remotely by design. We work with couples across India and internationally.
Yes — with appropriate clinical framing. Addiction profoundly affects relational dynamics, trust and emotional safety. Where one partner is in recovery or engaged in addiction treatment, marriage counselling can be a powerful complement — addressing the relational damage caused by addiction, rebuilding trust and communication, and supporting the non-addicted partner’s experience. We do not replace addiction treatment; we work alongside it.
Yes. Arranged marriages carry specific dynamics — navigating compatibility in compressed timelines, managing extended family interference, cultural expectations around gender roles, and building intimacy under significant social pressure. Our counsellors have extensive experience with arranged marriage dynamics specific to Indian families and the diaspora.
Yes. Extended family interference — particularly in the Indian context — is one of the most common sources of marital strain. Online marriage counselling helps couples establish healthy boundaries, develop a united relational position, and address the loyalty conflicts and identity pressures that family-of-origin dynamics create within a marriage.
Yes. Intercultural and inter-religious couples navigate additional layers of difference — values, traditions, family expectations, identity and belonging. These differences can be deeply enriching and deeply challenging in equal measure. Our therapists are experienced in working sensitively with the specific dynamics of cross-cultural and cross-faith marriages in the Indian and NRI context.
Yes — and this is a legitimate therapeutic outcome. Not every marriage should be saved, and a skilled marriage counsellor helps couples arrive at clarity about what they truly want, what is genuinely possible, and how to make that decision with integrity and minimal harm — especially where children are involved. Conscious, informed separation is sometimes the most healing outcome counselling can facilitate.
Absolutely. The arrival of a child is one of the most significant relational transitions a couple faces — and research consistently shows it correlates with a measurable decline in relationship satisfaction without active support. Online marriage counselling helps couples navigate role renegotiation, identity shifts, exhaustion-driven conflict and the challenge of maintaining intimacy within new parenthood.
Holistic Living is widely recognised as one of India’s leading online marriage counselling centres, with certified therapists and internationally accredited practitioners. When choosing any online marriage counsellor in India, verify their qualifications, ask about their specific experience with your presenting issue, and ensure they conduct a thorough assessment before beginning treatment.
Yes. Holistic Living has a full marriage counselling centre in Bandra West, conveniently located near Linking Road and accessible from all parts of the Western Suburbs including Khar, Santacruz, Juhu, Vile Parle, Andheri and Versova. Both in-person and online sessions are available for Bandra clients.
Yes. Our Chembur East centre serves clients from the Eastern Suburbs including Ghatkopar, Kurla, Sion, Govandi, Mulund and Thane. The Chembur location is easily accessible by train and auto-rickshaw, with ample parking available.
Absolutely. We offer online marriage counselling sessions via Zoom for clients across India and internationally. Our online clients include couples in Delhi, Bangalore, Pune, Hyderabad, London, Dubai and further afield. The process is identical to in-person sessions — you simply need a quiet, private space, a stable internet connection and a comfortable chair.
We have centres in Bandra West and Chembur, serving clients from across India: South Mumbai, Worli, Lower Parel, Dadar, Matunga, Khar, Santacruz, Juhu, Vile Parle, Andheri, Goregaon, Malad, Borivali, Powai, Vikhroli, Ghatkopar, Kurla, Sion, Navi Mumbai and Thane. Online sessions serve clients across India and internationally.
Awareness and acceptance of couples therapy has grown substantially in India over the past decade. Many of our clients are educated professionals, executives, doctors, entrepreneurs and film industry professionals. We handle all enquiries with complete discretion and confidentiality. The courage to seek help is increasingly recognised as a sign of strength, not weakness.
EFT is the most rigorously researched model of couples therapy available. It identifies the negative interaction cycles that maintain conflict and disconnection, traces them to underlying attachment needs, and helps partners move from defended reactivity to vulnerable, connecting communication. EFT has a 75% recovery rate in couples experiencing significant relational distress — one of the strongest outcomes in all of psychotherapy research.
The Gottman Method, developed by Drs. John and Julie Gottman from over four decades of couples research, focuses on building friendship, managing conflict constructively and creating shared meaning. It uses the “Sound Relationship House” model and has identified specific behavioural predictors of divorce — the “Four Horsemen” — that are directly addressed in treatment. It is one of the most widely used evidence-based approaches in modern couples therapy.
Attachment theory, developed by John Bowlby, describes how early relationships shape our emotional expectations and behaviour in close relationships as adults. Attachment-based marriage counselling explores how each partner’s attachment style — secure, anxious, avoidant or disorganised — drives the relational patterns causing distress, and works to shift these patterns toward greater security, trust and emotional availability.
Many of the most destructive relational patterns — emotional withdrawal, people-pleasing, explosive reactivity, fear of intimacy — are rooted in subconscious beliefs formed in childhood. At Holistic Living, our integrative approach combines surface-level communication work with deeper subconscious pattern work, creating change that is both immediately practical and fundamentally lasting.
Narrative therapy helps couples examine the stories they tell about themselves and each other — stories that have often become fixed, negative and dehumanising over time. By externalising the problem (“the conflict” rather than “you are the problem”) and helping couples author new, more complex and compassionate narratives about their relationship, narrative therapy opens space for reconnection and renewed possibility.
Somatic couples therapy works with the body’s role in relational conflict and disconnection. Emotional responses in relationships are embodied — held in posture, breath, muscle tension and nervous system activation. Somatic approaches help couples recognise and regulate these physical responses, creating the physiological conditions for genuine listening, emotional safety and intimate connection.
Premarital counselling is a structured process designed to help couples entering marriage build strong communication foundations, identify potential areas of conflict, align on values and expectations, and establish healthy relational habits before problems develop. At Holistic Living, premarital counselling is available for all couples — love marriages, arranged marriages, intercultural and interfaith couples.
Co-parenting counselling helps separated or divorced couples develop a respectful, functional partnership as parents — even when the romantic relationship has ended. Sessions focus on communication protocols, conflict management, consistency of parenting approach, and protecting children from the emotional fallout of parental conflict. The wellbeing of children is always the central priority.
Both have distinct and often complementary roles. Individual therapy works on each partner’s internal world — their personal history, psychological patterns and emotional health. Online marriage counselling works on the relationship itself — the dynamics, cycles and patterns that exist between two people. For many couples, the most powerful approach combines both — individual work alongside joint couples sessions.
Medication and marriage counselling operate at different levels. Where one or both partners experience anxiety, depression or other mental health conditions that affect the relationship, medication may provide important stabilisation. Marriage counselling addresses the relational and psychological roots of distress between partners — a domain medication does not reach. Many couples benefit from a coordinated approach where both are employed together.
Self-help books offer valuable frameworks and insights — but cannot replicate the live, attuned, emotionally intelligent presence of a skilled therapist in real time. A trained marriage counsellor reads the room, notices what isn’t being said, manages escalating emotions and makes real-time clinical decisions. Books offer knowledge. Therapy creates change.
Yes — and this is a question we hear often. The quality, modality and fit of the previous counselling experience matters enormously. Many couples who had unsatisfying experiences with general therapists or directive counsellors find that working with a specialist marriage counsellor produces substantially different results. If previous counselling didn’t work, it does not mean counselling cannot work.
Separation is sometimes necessary and sometimes the right outcome. Online marriage counselling is not an argument against separation — it is a process that helps couples make whatever decision is right for them with clarity, honesty and minimal harm. Many couples who enter counselling considering separation discover that the relationship they wanted was available — they simply lacked the tools to build it.
Simply fill out the booking form on this page, call us directly, or WhatsApp us. We’ll arrange a free 10-minute phone consultation first to understand your concerns and answer your questions. From there, we’ll match you with the most appropriate therapist and schedule your first session at Bandra, Chembur or online.
You are not obligated to tell anyone. All sessions at Holistic Living are completely confidential. If discretion is important, online sessions from a private space are an ideal option. Many couples find that results speak for themselves — and family members often become quietly supportive once they notice the positive changes in the relationship.
Absolutely. All client information at Holistic Living is held in strictest confidence. We adhere to professional ethical codes equivalent to HIPAA standards. Case notes are securely stored and never shared without your explicit written consent, except in the very rare circumstances required by law. This applies to all session content, your personal details and even the fact that you are a client.
Standard marriage counselling sessions involve the couple only — the therapeutic work is relational and requires a private, boundaried space. Where extended family dynamics are a significant part of the presenting issue, a structured family session involving relevant members may be incorporated as a specific therapeutic intervention, with the agreement of all parties.
Yes. We offer couples wellness workshops and group programmes on communication, intimacy and relationship resilience. Group formats are excellent for general relational skill-building, while individual couples sessions remain the most effective format for addressing specific, personal relational challenges. Please contact us for group booking enquiries.
Psychotherapy and allied mental health services can be claimed under Section 80D of the Income Tax Act in India if they are part of a preventive health check-up or medical treatment. We recommend consulting your CA for guidance specific to your situation. We provide detailed invoices for all sessions.
We ask for at least 24 hours notice to cancel or reschedule a session. Sessions cancelled with less than 24 hours notice may be charged in full. We understand that genuine emergencies occur and handle these on a case-by-case basis with compassion. We will always try to accommodate rescheduling within the same week where possible.
We offer a free discovery call specifically so you can assess whether you feel comfortable and confident with your therapist as a couple. Therapeutic alliance — the sense of safety and trust with the counsellor — is one of the strongest predictors of couples therapy success. If after your first paid session either partner feels the match isn’t right, we will reassign you to another therapist without hesitation or additional charge.
False. Seeking online marriage counselling is one of the strongest indicators that a couple values their relationship enough to invest in it. Research consistently shows that couples who engage in counselling before reaching complete crisis have significantly better outcomes. The couples most likely to thrive are those who seek help early — not those who wait until the damage is irreparable.
not support this. Relational patterns can shift at any stage of a relationship — even after decades. Many couples at Holistic Living have experienced profound transformation after 20, 30 or more years together. The neuroplasticity of the brain means that new relational patterns can always be learned. Length of time together is not a barrier to change.
not encourage indiscriminate disclosure or the excavation of every past grievance. Therapeutic work is focused, purposeful and always in service of building connection — not cataloguing damage. What is discussed is what is clinically relevant to creating the change the couple is seeking.
Yes. Pregnancy is a profound relational transition that can surface significant stress, fear, role renegotiation and intimacy challenges. Online marriage counselling during pregnancy helps couples build the relational foundation they will need as parents, address pre-existing tensions before they compound under the pressure of new parenthood, and enter this life transition as a genuinely united team.
Absolutely. India’s corporate culture creates specific relational pressures — long hours, frequent travel, income disparity, career competition, and emotional unavailability from chronic stress. Many high-achieving couples at Holistic Living use online marriage counselling both as a repair process and a performance tool — ensuring that professional ambition and relational health reinforce rather than destroy each other.
Yes. Later-life relational challenges — retirement adjustment, empty-nest dynamics, health changes, grief, accumulated resentment and renewed intimacy questions — are just as real and just as addressable as those faced by younger couples. Online marriage counselling at any age is both appropriate and effective. The specific wisdom and history that long-married couples bring to the process is itself a therapeutic resource.
Yes — and this is a growing area of our work. NRI couples navigate unique pressures: cultural identity conflicts, distance from family support systems, diaspora community expectations and the particular stress of navigating intimacy across multiple cultural worlds. Our online sessions reach clients across the UK, USA, UAE, Canada, Singapore, Australia and beyond.
Yes. Holistic Living provides affirming, respectful online marriage counselling to all couples, regardless of gender or sexual orientation. Our therapists are trained in LGBTQ+ inclusive practice. All couples deserve access to skilled, non-judgmental therapeutic support.
Yes. Second marriages and blended families carry specific structural complexity — stepparenting dynamics, loyalty conflicts, co-parenting with an ex, and the emotional residue of prior relationship endings. Online marriage counselling for blended family couples addresses this complexity with clinical precision and genuine empathy for all involved.
Yes. Premarital counselling is preventive — building the foundations of communication, conflict management and shared values before a marriage begins. Marriage counselling is remedial and developmental — addressing existing challenges, repairing damage and rebuilding connection within an ongoing relationship. Both are valuable; premarital counselling is simply the earlier, and often easier, investment.
